Appliances You Didn’t Know
Smeg – people are most familiar with them for their crazy fridges and cutting edge design. Little do people know that the famous Italian appliance designers also make a whole array of wonderful kitchen appliances and accessories. I’m going to go through a few of the appliances and accessories most of you probably didn’t know existed through the world of Smeg.
First we have the fully integrated and full automatic Coffee Machines. They look like very mini ovens and can be fully integrated into your kitchen. A very innovative appliance I think and probably has more available functions than a car! You can adjust the temperature of the hot water to your taste, 5 level programmable coffee strength, coffee function to choose a regular or double coffee, programmable water quantity per cup and programmable automatic switch on so that cup of coffee you crave in a morning is ready and waiting for you when you surface! The list of functions these things have really is endless!
Secondly, we have the Smeg integrated steam ovens. Usually something you buy as a separate appliance to sit on your worktop, as usual Smeg have topped it by making the ultimate steam oven that integrates into your kitchen just like the fridge or dishwasher. It can be used to cook anything from meat, fish and vegetables to defrosting food. It also has a sterilising function which would be useful for all new mums and their baby bits and bobs.
Now we have a treat – the Smeg 115 Bottle Wine Cooler! No your eyes aren’t deceiving you, it actually holds 115 bottles of wine, and that’s with the original shelving units supplied – if you remove some of those you can actually squeeze in 198 bottles. Don’t know about you but this appliance is would be my dream come true! The appliance can be free standing or fully integrated in to your kitchen. There are two temperature zones which can be set from the internal control panel and if the desired temperature drops an acoustic alarm sounds to let you know.
And last but not least are the Smeg warming drawers. These great gadgets integrate neatly above below or by your cooker/oven and are very handy for warming plates for dinner or keeping your dinner warm for up to an hour, some people find they can even prove dough in them. Most Smeg models come with fully electronic touch controls and temperature range between 30 to 75 degrees Celsius. They also come equipped with an adjustable timer for between 0 to 240 minutes with an automatic safety switch off, and a delay timer up to almost 10 hours.
Well that’s all for now but be sure to check back soon for more Smeg blogs!
Fancy a brew?
Feeling tired? Maybe you need a bit of an energy boost? Then you need to get your grubby mitts on a Smeg Coffee Machine! That’s right, Smeg don’t just do your standard white goods, they have their fingers in a whole range of different pies (or mugs), so we’re going to take a quick minute to have a glance at the Smeg Coffee Machine.
This isn’t just any coffee machine; the Smeg Coffee Machine is a bona fide coffee bean expert, coming equipped with the knowledge to froth up your cup with loads of different variations on your favourite brew. The Smeg Coffee Machine can produce…(deep breath)… Italian espresso, short black, long black, single shot, double shot and flat whites, and on top of all that it can fill 2 cups simultaneously, and even spray on some frothy heated milk for that professional finish. Boasting all those different types of coffee, it’s a wonder this coffee machine can keep its feet on the grounds.
But how do we select all these fancy options I hear you cry, nay, scream! Don’t panic; untwist those knickers; the Smeg Coffee Machine comes with an amazing LCD screen so you can select your tipple of choice at the prod of one caffeine addicted finger. This isn’t just any LCD screen though, this screen’s been trained in the art of the bean. It’ll tell you just how far along your coffee is, so you’ll know the exact second it’s ready to drink.
But hold on, what if your favourite brew isn’t coffee? What if you’re more of a tea person? Once again, don’t panic! Hold the phone and don’t press that third 9 on the keypad. Just pop your teabag into your mug, and hold it under the Smeg Coffee Machine’s hot water nozzle. Hey presto, a hot cup of tea! If coffee is your passion, then you need a Smeg Coffee Machine!
