These might sound like very lofty assertions to place at the rather sturdy feet of the Smeg Cooker, but there’s no doubt that they’re warranted! The designers at Smeg have long been ensuring that Smeg Cookers set the standard for cooking – they’ve been at the top of the pile for nearly 20 years and they don’t look like sacrificing that title any time soon. Smeg have a protracted history in the cooking field, and their experience in manufacturing these appliances is evident in every aspect of a Smeg Cooker. As usual, we have a particular favourite from the Smeg range – this time it’s the Smeg 90cm Dual Fuel Range Cooker. This isn’t just any old appliance; this is a range cooker for those who are serious about their style and conscious about their cooking.

This appliance boasts a plethora of features aimed at making your culinary life as simple and as easy as possible. The oven comes with 9 separate functions and an enormous 7 litre capacity, so however many people you’re catering for you can be confident that your Smeg Cooker will have no trouble handling all the different dishes in one go. Smeg Accessories

Believe it or not, we’re running short of Smeg appliances to bring to you, which is why we’re going to take a time out from our appliances and instead focus on Smeg accessories. With Smeg accessories you can remove some of the hassle and stress from your kitchen life and inject some authentic Smeg spark into your cooking. First on our list of Smeg accessories is the Smeg pizza stone. Infuse your cooking with some authentic Italian tradition using the Smeg pizza stone; now your pizzas will have that true stone-baked taste that reflects Smeg’s Italian heritage to a tee. If the Smeg pizza stone isn’t enough, you might want to take a peek at the Smeg pizza shovel too, which does pretty much what it says on the tin. You won’t have to worry about your pizza falling apart, or toppings dropping off as you ease it out of the oven, because the Smeg Pizza shovel makes it quick and easy. You’ll have it away from the heat and into your mouth in minutes.

Ever have the issue where your food is ready, but your guests aren’t? Your perfectly cooked food getting cold can be a problem, which is why Smeg have produced the Smeg warming drawer. With a Smeg warming drawer you can keep all your meals warm until you and your guests are ready to tuck in. You can even warm your plates in it so your food doesn’t go cold when you serve it! Before you serve your food though, you’ve got to prepare it, a process that very often requires chopping of some form. Sometimes finding space amongst all the pots, pans and packets can be difficult, but with a Smeg chopping board that’s never an issue. The Smeg Chopping board slots perfectly into the groove on your Smeg sink, creating a new work space for you to prepare your culinary delights without knocking everything off the work tops. As you can see, there’s a huge range of different Smeg Accessories and this list is only the tip of the iceberg.

As usual, it’s beneficial for us to focus on one particular Smeg Hood; in this instance it’s the Smeg Cucina 90cm Island Hood, a stylish, contemporary Smeg Hood that’s affordable too. It’s stainless steel design means it will fit perfectly into any kitchen, and with its high performance motor it’ll function brilliantly as well. It’s also relatively quiet in its operation, so whilst it might have the power of a small wind turbine, it definitely won’t sound like one! Smeg Dishwasher

We’re starting a clean slate this week, or should that be a clean plate? That’s because we’re looking at the Smeg Dishwasher, an appliance that always guarantees a clean plate! Gone are the days when you labour over the sink after every meal, elbow deep in mucky water and suds scrubbing your finest china, chipping it to bits in the process. These days a majority of kitchens will have a dishwasher, and that begs the question, why not make it a Smeg dishwasher? We literally can’t think of a single reason not to!

Smeg Dishwashers, like all Smeg appliances, are built to be both brilliant and stylish; you can get a Smeg dishwasher in a huge range of styles but our favourite is without doubt the retro Smeg Dishwasher. These soapy kitchen soldiers look very similar to your Smeg FAB fridge, but you obviously wouldn’t want to keep your milk cool in one. As usual though, there’s one particular Smeg dishwasher that’s caught my eye, and that’s the Smeg 60cm 50s style freestanding dishwasher. This Smeg dishwasher boasts an A class energy rating alongside an A class washing efficiency, so you know that when you plonk your plates in this beast’s spacious belly they’re going to come out sparkling.

Like some control over your dish washing? Who doesn’t! This Smeg dishwasher also comes with 10 different functions – we haven’t a clue what those 10 different ways of washing your plates are, but we’re sure they’re nothing short of brilliant! I wouldn’t wash my dishes in anything other than a Smeg dishwasher. Although this black one is my personal favourite, you can get the Smeg dishwasher in any number of different colours and styles, so whatever your taste you’ll find a Smeg dishwasher to suit you!

Smeg’s Untapped Potential

Sinks and tap! Not the most exciting of subject matter, we’ll grant you that, but where Smeg are involved everything gets that little bit more interesting. This time we’re going to take a look at Smeg sinks and Smeg taps – they’re guaranteed to clean up any kitchen and they’re never a wash out.

As usual, the focus of Smeg sinks and Smeg taps is on design; they’re both available in a variety of styles, including double, single and half bowl models. Smeg Sinks and Smeg Taps

Smeg Sinks and Smeg Taps

If you value aesthetics in your culinary environment, and any aspiring chef should, then Smeg sinks and Smeg taps are for you. They don’t just look good, they perform brilliantly. Although we’re not sure what performance you should be expecting out of a sink; these things really are all about the looks! Looks and size in fact, because you need to make sure you can fit all your dirty dishes in one. The majority of Smeg sinks are 200mm deep, so you’ll have no trouble getting up to your elbows in suds.

Smeg sinks and Smeg taps are brilliant on their own, but when you couple them with some Smeg accessories they’re even better. There’s a range of these available – you can choose from a drainer basket, a chopping board and a colander. Exciting eh? We thought so too!

That’s enough about Smeg sinks and Smeg taps for now, but come back soon to hear more about Smeg!

Fancy a brew?

Feeling tired? Maybe you need a bit of an energy boost? Then you need to get your grubby mitts on a Smeg Coffee Machine! That’s right, Smeg don’t just do your standard white goods, they have their fingers in a whole range of different pies (or mugs), so we’re going to take a quick minute to have a glance at the Smeg Coffee Machine.

This isn’t just any coffee machine; the Smeg Coffee Machine is a bona fide coffee bean expert, coming equipped with the knowledge to froth up your cup with loads of different variations on your favourite brew. The Smeg Coffee Machine can produce…(deep breath)… Italian espresso, short black, long black, single shot, double shot and flat whites, and on top of all that it can fill 2 cups simultaneously, and even spray on some frothy heated milk for that professional finish. Boasting all those different types of coffee, it’s a wonder this coffee machine can keep its feet on the grounds.

But how do we select all these fancy options I hear you cry, nay, scream! Don’t panic; untwist those knickers; the Smeg Coffee Machine comes with an amazing LCD screen so you can select your tipple of choice at the prod of one caffeine addicted finger. This isn’t just any LCD screen though, this screen’s been trained in the art of the bean. It’ll tell you just how far along your coffee is, so you’ll know the exact second it’s ready to drink.

But hold on, what if your favourite brew isn’t coffee? What if you’re more of a tea person? Once again, don’t panic! Hold the phone and don’t press that third 9 on the keypad. Just pop your teabag into your mug, and hold it under the Smeg Coffee Machine’s hot water nozzle. Hey presto, a hot cup of tea! If coffee is your passion, then you need a Smeg Coffee Machine!

Cold? Get a Smeg Wall Fire!

Brrrrrr! That’s the sound of chattering teeth, it’s winter and it’s blooming cold! Well it is outside anyway, but definitely not inside. Want to know why? Because I’ve just gone and got myself a Smeg Wall Fire that’s why.

A new fire might sound like a serious fuss and a huge strain on your bank account but with a Smeg Wall Fire it most definitely isn’t; Smeg Wall Fires are actual gas fires that hang right from your wall, so you can put them absolutely anywhere and start feeling the heat. You don’t have to start hammering down your wall to fit a chimney and gas pipes, the Smeg Wall Fire works independently of both! It’s kind of like magic. Here’s what mine looks like.

You don’t just have to put your Smeg Wall Fire in the living room like a normal fire, you can stick one anywhere and add some serious style to your home. Find yourself curling up under the covers in winter? Put an end to your frosty fears and warm your toes with a Smeg Wall Fire next to your bed! You can put them absolutely anywhere. Well, anywhere within reason. What are you waiting for? Go and grab yourself one!

Smeg Fab30

We’re going to take a closer look at some of the models in the Smeg FAB range, starting with the Smeg FAB30. With this you get a huge fridge compartment at the bottom and a slightly smaller freezer compartment on top – but you can still fit loads of your stuff in both! If I had to use one word to describe the Smeg FAB30, that word would be funky. The Smeg FAB30 is a funky fridge. That title isn’t exclusive to the Smeg FAB30 but I think it particularly applies in this case. They’ve got a capacity of 315 litres and come with 3 adjustable glass shelves, which will come in handy for placing things on. Overall, I can’t recommend the Smeg FAB30 highly enough! I’m quite the fan.

Smeg Fab32

The Smeg FAB32 is 2 steps up from the Smeg FAB30, and luckily that hasn’t proved a step too far for Smeg – the FAB32 is just as impressive as its numerically smaller brother. Or sister if yours is pink. Brace yourself, because the layout on the Smeg FAB32 is slightly different too – it comes with the fridge section on top and the freezer section on the bottom. The fridge section on the Smeg FAB32 is roomy enough for a huge 205 litres of whatever you want to put in there (I recommend Lucozade) whilst the freezer section of the Smeg FAB32, whilst boasting a slightly more modest 103 litre capacity, is still spacey enough to hold all the ready meals you’ll ever need! Like any other Smeg, the Smeg FAB32 is seriously stylish too, coming in the usual exciting range of Smeg designs. (I recommend Pastel Blue)
